The story of Ellie and the rainbow bridge crossing

Today I want to tell you an amazing story about a mom and her little Australian dog Ellie, and her rainbow bridge crossing.

A story of premonitory dreams and feelings beyond life.

Premonitory signs from dreams

"My husband, son and I went on a beach vacation to snorkel and dive. Cell phone reception was poor, the area had little network and Internet coverage.

One night I dreamed of Ellie who was tremendously ill and on the verge of death..

We had left our puppy with my mother -she always loved her, and some company around the house would have been good for her.

I told my husband about that dream and he took me to an area in town where the phone signal was good, in order to to call my mom to find out that everything was okay, and that the pious 4-legged child was good.

Hoping that the dream was just a dream.

But my mother did not answer, and there were no alarming messages on the phone, so I was reassured.

I was certain that if anything happened my mom would call me promptly.

But I was left with a strange feeling--I slept badly at night, and often I would wake up and hear Ellie barking, as if she were right there beside me.

A week later, at another vacation spot, I called my mother...she answered me in tears, she couldn't contain herself any longer..

My mother tearfully told me that Maggie had an illness the week before....

She took her to the vet and held her in her arms cradling her until the very last, before Maggie was released from pain and fell asleep forever.

I was devastated, but I still managed to notice one detail: the day Maggie died was the same day I had that dream.

Maggie came to me to say goodbye one last time. I am absolutely convinced of that.

She came to say goodbye to me before crossing the rainbow bridge.

But that was not our last goodbye.."

Over the rainbow bridge

“Back home from vacation, I felt the sensation of having Ellie in my bedroom.

So, I decided to say goodbye to her: my husband also wanted to join in, he missed her fellow adventurer very much but felt uncomfortable, didn't know what to do.

I suggested him to reach out his hand and caress her, and simply say what he felt in his heart.

He felt a little uncomfortable stroking the air and talking to the wind, but he did it.

I was sure that if Ellie was really in that room, she would send me a signal. Within seconds, our bedside lamps flickered. First the one on my husband's side, then mine....

I am sure it was our beloved puppy! She was there for sure and came to say her last goodbye before going over the rainbow bridge.”

The Rainbow Bridge Poem

“By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together. "

Conclusion

“Firstly thank you so much for the beautiful portrait of my beloved Ellie. I am so happy with it and she is in the lounge room and every room as I open my shutters I look at her smile. My heart feels warm and I remember her and all our happy times fondly.

 [...]

Our pets are soo loyal and loving and receptive. They will give us messages even in the after life if we are open to receiving them.

Love and Light. Sharon”

My cat Buzz became seriously ill very suddenly. Within 2 weeks of diagnosis, I had to let go and let him cross the rainbow bridge. That very same day my FlowerPup print of him arrived! When I ordered it, I didn’t even know he was sick! I knew that was a sign from him. On one of the worst days in my life, he was able to make me smile.
